Well not here but nearly everywhere north of here it seems. I had a feeling fall was going to feel more like winter this year. Are you prepared? Being prepared saves us money. It is those last minute un planned expenses that really mess up the budget. Make your lists today of what needs to be done each month through the end of the year and add deadlines or goals for when you want each item done. here are some of my plans.

purchase new deep freeze

fill with 1 gal buckets of water as soon as plugged in, then begin replacing with food

purchase 10 turkeys as soon as I see a good sale, we love to have a good turkey meal two or three times a month in the winter months, get them on sale and it is quite a bargain

make sure everyone has good coveralls and boots that fit, remember to look at Goodwill half price day

make sure all flashlights are working

be sure we have kerosene and wicks for lamps

firewood, lots of it

chainsaws serviced

good movies in my Netflix queue

pantry filled with basics, flour, sugar, oats, pasta, oil, salt, coffee, canned goods

plenty of hay for the livestock

anyway you get my point, if I waited until the last minute on these items they would cost more
