We have been shopping for a new deep freezer. Usually I am happy with used appliances but this time we need new. It will save me money in the long run for two reasons.

1. an old appliance is more apt to fail and waste hundreds of dollars of frozen food, this has happened more than once
2. nothing sucks more energy than old appliances

Now an appliance can be one or two years old, or maybe even a little more and be ok, but 10 years old and you are wasting money. I am not just talking about refridgerators and freezers, but things like old tvs and computers, and the light bulbs. I need to get one of those things that the appliance plugs into and tells you how much energy it takes. Anyway I was planning n the new deep freeze anyway but then read this article by my friend Rebecca about  California To Ban Power-Guzzling TVs and it got me thinking about what else I need to replace.
